2008/05/30 - Snatch training

I am really enjoying the GS style of training but I have a long way to go. I have made progress fast over the past 4 weeks and am keen to see where I'll be in another month.

Snatch (16kg): 6 minutes @ 15rpm x 5 and 12rpm x 1 (2,2,1,1): 87
Snatch (16kg): 2 minutes @ 15rpm: 30
Jerk (24kg): 2 minutes @ 7 rpm: 14
Squats (24kg): 4x5
Yoga for 15 minutes.

I'm really glad I've started incorporating yoga into my training. My lower back is usually very tight after snatches or swings but the yoga seems to be sorting the problem out.

Hi Denis. Thanks man! I am using a program feom one of the Iyengar books that gradually becomes more complex. Currently just doind mountain pose, triangle, side angle, shoulder stand, plough and corpse pose. I will add to this each week but will probably stay away from the true "pretzel" postures. Johan
